BIM Software Tips: Summary of New Features and Structural Enhancements in Revit 2015 (Part 1)
1. Enhanced Structural Analysis Model
The 2015 release of Revit introduced a significant update to the display of structural analysis elements. Now, local coordinate system widgets can be shown along the structural analysis elements within the view.
To enable this in a 3D analysis view, navigate to Visibility/Graphic Overrides and then switch to the Analysis Model category under the Subcategory panel.
By clicking the plus sign next to each category name, new options become available, including the Local Coordinate System setting.
Once selected, the coordinate system aligned with the direction of the element will appear directly on the element within the view.
Through testing, it was observed that regardless of whether the local coordinate system visibility is toggled on or off, an additional set of local coordinate systems will appear when manually editing the analysis model.
This suggests that the local coordinate system controlled through visibility settings is intended solely for viewing purposes and cannot be manipulated directly with the mouse.
