How to Hide the Upper Separation Size During a Yellow Alert in AutoCAD

BIM Software Tip: How to Hide the Upper Separation Size When a Yellow Alert Appears in AutoCAD

Question:

Why does a yellow warning with an exclamation mark appear next to certain dimensions in AutoCAD?

Cause:

This warning appears when the annotation monitor is enabled. It indicates that some dimensions have become separated from their associated objects.

Solution:

To turn off the annotation monitor:

Type ANNOMONITOR in the command line and set its value to -1.

If you want to keep the annotation monitor enabled and fix the separated annotations:

  • Select the yellow warning icon next to the dimension.
  • Choose the option to re-associate the annotation.
  • Select the points on the object that should be linked to the annotation.
