How to Easily Convert Between Millimeters and Inches in AutoCAD

BIM Software Tip: How to Convert Units Between Millimeters and Inches in AutoCAD

Question:

How can you create engineering drawing dimensions in inches and convert them to millimeters?

Solution:

AutoCAD annotations are unitless by default, which means you can easily adjust them using scale factors.

For example, if your dimensions are currently in inches and you want to convert them to millimeters, remember that 1 inch equals approximately 25.4 millimeters.

To convert, set the scale factor to 25.4 in the annotation style settings.

After applying this scale factor, your dimensions will be converted to millimeters, as shown below.
