BIM Software Tip: How to Resolve File Issues in the Revit Synchronization Center
When synchronizing, you might encounter a prompt to close and continue synchronizing. This can cause Revit to crash with a fatal error, preventing synchronization from completing.
Here are some possible causes and their solutions:
1) Sudden network interruption causing errors.
In this case, restoring to the latest version and continuing your work based on that version is recommended. However, be aware that some recent changes might be lost. This approach also addresses issues arising from Revit software itself.
2) Unexpected integrated server shutdown.
This can cause file inconsistencies. The solution is to restore to the latest version available and continue designing from there, though some work may be lost.
3) Opening a file copied from the R drive that is an older version than the server copy.
This action is incorrect and will trigger an error. Always work with the latest version directly from the server to avoid synchronization problems.
