How to Create Multi-Line Aligned Text in Revit

BIM Software Tip: Creating Multi-Line Aligned Text in Revit

When using text commands in Revit, we typically click in the view to start typing. For text that needs to wrap, most users press the Enter key manually to create line breaks.

This approach means the length of each line is determined by where you press Enter. But is there a way to set a specific text area so that the text automatically wraps without manual line breaks? Let’s explore how to do this.

The method is actually quite simple. After selecting the text command, look at the status bar in the bottom-left corner of the software window for operation prompts.

You can use the “Click and drag” technique to define the text input area by drawing a selection box with your mouse.

When typing within this box, the text will automatically wrap at the boundaries of the defined area.

Additionally, Revit offers three text alignment options—left, center, and right—to better control how your text appears within the selected area.
