BIM Software Tip: How to Update Revit Duct Types
After completing a duct drawing, you may find the need to change the fittings used for a certain type of duct. For example, in the pipeline network shown below, the drawing has already been finished.
However, we realized that the tees should be curved tees instead of the currently used angled tees. One way to fix this is to select each three-way connector individually and then choose the curved tee family in the properties panel to make adjustments.
But if the pipeline network is large, with many three-way connections, this approach becomes very inefficient. Instead, you can modify the duct system’s routing configuration by changing the default tee to the desired tee family.
Then, by clicking the Reapply Type command on the Modify panel, you can update all fittings at once. Once completed, the results will look like the image below.
