BIM Software Tip: Automatically Check for Open Connection Ends in Revit

Recently, I have noticed some users expressing frustration about the numerous exclamation marks appearing on their screens while using Revit, whether in 2D or 3D views.

Actually, these exclamation marks are part of Revit’s built-in open port detection feature. This tool helps you quickly identify locations within your project where connectors are open or where equipment lacks pipeline connections. So, where can you find this feature? Let’s take a look at the image below:

Click on the Display Isolation Switch. After executing this command, a dialog box like the one shown in the following image will appear.

Simply check the appropriate option to highlight improperly connected connectors with a yellow exclamation mark in Revit. This visual marker indicates that the connector is currently open.

The fourth item, labeled Electrical, refers specifically to wiring within the electrical engineering discipline.
