How Revit Automatically Adapts Beams to Changing Surfaces

BIM Software Tip: How to Create Beams That Adapt to Surface Changes in REVIT

1. Start by creating a volume.

2. Generate walls by selecting the faces of the volume.

3. Draw a wall where needed.

4. Use the “Connect” command to clean up any overlapping parts between multiple elements.

5. Once cleaned up, set the work plane.

6. Create structural I-beams by selecting the appropriate lines.

7. Finally, delete the walls if they are no longer required.

Alternatively, you can use the “Facing the Roof” command to create a roof first, then generate beams in the same way described above.
