Tile Layout in Revit Interior Design

Revit Texture Editor offers a “Repeat” command with options for “Horizontal” and “Vertical” alignment. Understanding the differences when using ceramic tile styles as tools is essential:

When applying tile styles, please refer to the illustration below:

In contrast, if tile styles are not used, the following image and simple analysis explain the behavior:

Simple Analysis:

1. “Horizontal” adjusts the texture along the X-axis, creating a flat, side-to-side repetition.

2. “Vertical” adjusts the texture along the Y-axis, repeating the texture top to bottom.

If you select “None,” the texture will not fill or repeat within the material. However, choosing “Ceramic tiles” will fill the material with the texture according to the tile layout pattern.
