Efficiently Placing Door and Window Tags in Revit

Quickly Placing Door and Window Tags in Revit

When working with Revit, it’s often necessary to label doors and windows so that you and other team members don’t have to inspect each one individually. Tagging these elements allows for quick identification, which significantly improves efficiency.

1. In the plan view, click the Annotation tool located in the Quick Access Toolbar. Then, select Tag All from the Tags panel in the contextual tab.

After clicking Tag All, a dialog box will appear, prompting you to tag all unmarked objects.

Next, hold down the Ctrl key and drag the up and down arrows to select multiple door and window tags.

4. Once your selection is complete, click OK to apply the tags. After tagging, you can further optimize the appearance of the tags for a cleaner, more professional look.

5. This method is not limited to doors and windows—you can use it to quickly tag other categories as well. Just make sure to load the corresponding family tags for those categories into your project beforehand.
