Navisworks 2017 New Features
Navisworks® 2017 products—including Navisworks® Simulate, Navisworks® Manage, and Navisworks® Freedom—introduce a range of new features. These enhancements focus on project tracking, improved interoperability, integrated 2D analysis, and cloud rendering capabilities.
Coordinate BIM 360 Shared Views (NAVISWORKS MANAGE, NAVISWORKS SIMULATE)
Users connected to a BIM 360 Glue project can now share views generated from review and analysis activities. Within BIM 360 Glue, you can create a folder structure to organize these views. Once created using Navisworks 2017 or BIM 360 Glue, the views can be shared with the project team, enabling real-time access across different clients.
Model Review Redline Annotation Tools (NAVISWORKS MANAGE, NAVISWORKS SIMULATE)
The redline annotation tools have been improved to enhance clarity and ease of use. Now, when adding redline annotations, you can utilize the arrow tool to better highlight issues and improve communication during model reviews.
Quantitative 2D PDF Reader (NAVISWORKS MANAGE, NAVISWORKS SIMULATE)
Navisworks 2017 introduces a 2D PDF reader to support more flexible quantity extraction workflows. The software fully supports Adobe PDF files, allowing users to work with 2D design data directly. PDFs are displayed in their complete form, including lines, text, colors, and shading, which helps present complex drawings more clearly and simplifies the preparation of quantity takeoff documents.
