BIM Software Tip: Addressing Object Hierarchy Selection Issues in Navisworks
Occasionally, when trying to access the properties of an element in Revit, you might find that no information is displayed, as illustrated in the image below.
This problem stems from the way object hierarchy is handled during selection. When an object is selected, the corresponding item in the selection tree is also highlighted, as shown in the following figure.
You can adjust the object selection settings by navigating to the “Commonly Used” tab, then to “Select and Search”, and finally accessing the dropdown menu options.
The level settings here correspond directly to the levels displayed in the selection tree, allowing for more precise control over selection behavior.
