BIM Software Tip: Navisworks Executes Model Computation

1. How to Select Quantitative Items

In either the Scene View or the Select Tree, click on the object or group in the center. Note: Make sure the Select Tree is displayed as a standard tree to properly view the objects.

2. How to Select All Identical Objects

Within Scene View or Select Tree, click on an object (whether grouped or at a higher level) in the center. Commonly used options include:

• Select and Search
• Select the Same Project
• Same Name
• Same Type

3. How to Calculate Quantities for Existing Directory Projects

Open the Quantification workbook and select the items you want to include in the quantity calculation.

In Scene View or the Select Tree, select objects, groups, or the entire selection tree. Tip: To select multiple objects or groups, hold down the Shift key while selecting.

Then, perform one of the following actions:

• Drag and drop the selected items onto the items in the navigation pane or onto the measurement pane.
• Right-click on the selected content and choose Quantification > Calculate Quantity for the existing project.
• In the Quantification toolbar, click Model Computational Complexity and select Calculate Quantity for the chosen project.

The calculated quantities will appear under the selected item in the Quantification workbook.
