Navisworks Detects Model Collisions and Saves Key Viewpoints

BIM Software Tip: Navisworks detects collisions within the model and saves corresponding viewpoints.

When you click on a collision result, the view automatically zooms in on the collision location within the Scene View. The Clash Detective tool offers various Display options that allow you to customize how collisions are visualized in the model.

For instance, you can visually isolate collision items in the Scene View, making it easier to focus on them. You can also adjust the viewing environment to better understand the exact position of each collision within the model. Additionally, Autodesk Navisworks provides options to customize how the software transitions between different collisions.

While navigating collision results in the Scene View, if you select the Automatic Update option under the Display Settings panel in the Results tab, all changes made to the collision viewpoints will be saved automatically. This feature allows you to modify viewpoints based on collision data and save redline annotations.

If you navigate away from a collision and cannot return to its exact location in the Scene View, you can reset the viewpoint to refocus on the collision. The main view serves as the default camera orientation for all collision viewpoints.
