Understanding Pipe Markings and Break Symbols in Revit MEP

BIM Software Tip: Revit MEP uses pipe markings with break symbols

1. Start by creating a new family file and choose the Metric Standard Marking template.

2. Select the option Rotate along with the construction and make sure it is checked.

3. Draw the break symbol on the pipe.

4. Save your family file and load it into your project.

5. On the View Control Bar, click Crop View to trim any excess pipe lengths. Use the comments to mark the pipes by type.
