On June 22-23, to support key milestones in China’s economic upgrading and promote the deep integration of the digital economy with the construction industry, the Quanlian Real Estate Chamber of Commerce, China Construction Engineering Cost Management Association, China Construction Industry Association Engineering Project Management Professional Committee, and Guanglian Da Technology Co., Ltd. are co-hosting the most influential annual summit of China’s construction industry. This event will take place in Chengdu in 2017.
Senior experts from the construction sector, real estate technology professionals, and representatives from various fields—including construction firms, intermediaries, consulting agencies, and design schools—will gather in Chengdu to discuss digital-driven innovation and integration in the construction industry.
The theme of this summit is “Digital Driven Integrated Innovation.” For China, the digital economy is not only a new driver to improve economic quality and efficiency but also a vast new frontier for economic transformation and growth.
Digital technology encompasses the internet, cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile internet, artificial intelligence (AI), Building Information Modeling (BIM), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and geographic information systems (GIS). These cutting-edge technologies are set to boost China’s construction industry as well as related enterprises and projects.
Compared to the previous summit, themed “Technology Leads the Era, Building an Industrial Ecology Together,” this year’s event emphasizes the broad application of digital technology in architecture. It marks a clear shift from high-level technological concepts to practical digital applications.
According to insiders, the 2017 China Construction Industry Annual Summit will focus on hot topics such as how digital technology drives the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, how the industry embraces integrated innovation, and the impact of future digital buildings on society.
Reportedly, this upcoming summit in Chengdu marks the eighth edition of the event. The first summit was launched by Guanglian Da Co., Ltd. in 2010. Since then, as more industry experts and business representatives have participated, the summit’s influence and appeal have grown steadily.
Today, the summit has evolved into a major annual industry event, jointly organized by multiple industry associations alongside Guanglian Da. It has been successfully held in cities including Beijing, Suzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
The summit brings together experts from the construction industry and its upstream and downstream sectors, as well as related cross-border industries aligned with the theme. It provides a high-level interactive platform for information exchange and cross-sector communication among regulatory bodies, company leaders, experts, and academics in the construction field.
