A Utopia of Chocolate
Zebra and Qiao is a premium cocoa bean research and development institute dedicated to pioneering unique innovations in chocolate products, unlocking endless possibilities. As the brand’s inaugural offline store, it is designed as a retro-futuristic space, introducing a new retail concept infused with elements of futurism.
The design features chocolate block elements, applied flexibly across doorframes, ceilings, and walls using compositional techniques. These folded blocks create a striking visual impact and add a strong sense of structure to the space. The cocoa blocks that extend outward project an inviting, open storefront, drawing more visitors into the mall.
The fusion of chocolate brown with stainless steel colors symbolizes the blend of retro charm and futuristic aesthetics, crafting an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and avant-garde.
The ceiling’s chocolate blocks incorporate luminous film as the primary light source for the store. Spotlights and sprinkler systems are discreetly integrated within the gaps of the block layout, preserving the design’s continuity. A corner LED screen on the storefront acts like a time capsule embedded in the facade, its sleek display captivating shoppers inside the mall.
The circular island, featuring the brand’s zebra motif, reinforces customer engagement and strengthens brand recognition. The junction between the floor and the Nakajima bread cabinet is trimmed with matching metal, visually expanding the counter space. To the right of the island is a dining area, where furniture continues the chocolate-inspired theme. Together, the flowing chocolate table and the curtain wall installation with dynamic effects near the window immerse visitors in a rich cocoa ambiance.
