Kibi Kogen N Square is situated in Jibei cho, on the central plateau of Okayama Prefecture. This regional exchange and creative hub features shared office spaces and cafes, fostering community interaction. The development is led by the local firm Systems Nakashima.

Okayama is recognized as Japan’s largest manufacturer of CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) panels. The entire structure and interior of Kibi Kogen N Square utilize these CLT panels.
Each CLT panel measures 2.2 meters wide, 35 meters long, and 21 centimeters thick. They are stacked on-site at varying angles with a height difference of approximately 4 meters. This deliberate misalignment creates diverse spatial experiences and openings throughout the building.

The open design breaks away from the closed, repetitive patterns typical of traditional CLT structures. It embodies the openness of the facility and a spirit of collaboration within the community. This includes participation from Okayama University in the shared office spaces. These environments encourage the intersection and integration of different generations, industries, and academic fields.
