Venue and Roof
The project site features subtle characteristics that are not immediately apparent until you step inside. These include a gentle land slope and tall, vertical trees. The design intentionally highlights these hidden qualities.
To achieve this, the building incorporates a flat surface placed on the site, contrasting with the slope to better appreciate the terrain’s natural conditions. This flat surface also serves a functional purpose.

Planes transform into roofs, representing the fundamental and primitive elements of architecture. Beneath these roofs, activities unfold to allow occupants to manage the space for sitting, sleeping, and walking, while staying connected to the natural environment.

Truth, Geography, and Room
What does it mean to respect nature? Should the original ground remain untouched, or is alteration acceptable? Can nature’s truth be described as constant change and movement rather than stability? The earth’s surface continually evolves, influenced by human intervention and natural forces alike. Does this imply that nature holds no fixed truth?
These questions surfaced during the construction and design of the attic space—a place for rest and various activities.

Construction has altered the ground, with excavated foundation trenches preserved as visible reminders of human intervention. These excavated areas have been transformed into dining rooms, each aligned with the level and location of the building’s foundation.

Structure, Construction, and Architectural Space
The building’s structure, construction, and spatial design are seamlessly integrated. First, structural elements are evident in the varied roof heights and differing thicknesses of support components. Next, architectural details emerge in the foundation areas, showcasing concrete with diverse colors and textures. Finally, the architectural space is expressed through the horizontal relationships between rooms and their underground foundations, as well as vertical relationships between rooms and stair supports.
