The finest architecture seamlessly blends with its environment, making it difficult to distinguish where nature ends and art begins. Our project is situated in Gaozhuang, the heartland of Dai culture in Xishuangbanna. This region is rich in ethnic traditions and natural wonders.
Two buildings are connected by a central corridor, each hosting distinct functions on either side. The left side houses the SPA hall, while the right side features a restaurant. The corridor not only links these spaces but also ensures privacy for both.

The fresh outdoor air at Chunwuli invigorates the senses. Lush vegetation breathes life into the space, while stones convey a raw, primal energy. Though seemingly simple, these elements form a magnificent natural frame, symbolizing the bond between us and nature.
The design of the outdoor restaurant draws inspiration from two ordinary leaves found in the local tropical rainforest. These unassuming leaves act like springs—constantly flowing and thriving—maintaining the balance and harmony of the entire rainforest with every breath.

The concept of “shaping from nature” is inspired by the raw forms found in the natural world. By learning from nature and integrating its principles into architectural design, we use materials that harmonize with the environment and apply subtle enhancements to minimize artificiality. This approach creates buildings that feel more natural and harmonious.
In the extended space outside the staircase, we employed the traditional bamboo weaving technique of Banna. This choice deepens the connection between the interior and the outdoors, blending the two worlds. The space offers a unique visual experience and embodies the healing power of nature.

While designing immersive spaces for people, we ensured the preservation of the natural inhabitants’ homes. We respected and integrated the artistic dwellings of birds, making the building itself a part of the rainforest ecosystem.
Within the small courtyard, surrounded by trees and red bricks, the boundaries between indoors and outdoors fade away. This charming courtyard invites visitors to connect with nature and enjoy moments of peace and beauty.

The interior of Chunwuli’s restaurant features cleverly arranged wooden bridges and bluestone slabs surrounded by dense vegetation. This setting creates a sense of anticipation and mystery for guests.
We selected extensive wooden and bamboo furniture to evoke the feeling of being immersed in a dense forest, offering diners a unique and unforgettable experience.

Our exploration focuses on creating a harmonious resonance between space, body, and nature at the same frequency.
Inspired by minimalism, the SPA space is simplified to its essence, fostering a profound sense of calm. Here, the complexities of the outside world fade into silence, allowing you to find peace within a pure and tranquil environment.
