About the Project
This project is situated on the left bank commercial street of Vita in Zhengzhou, China. The designer aimed to leverage the strategic transportation location to create a commercial space that offers a unique and memorable experience.
As the main bridge leading into the commercial street, it is named the “Lucky Bridge” to symbolize emotional support for young visitors. Here, people write their names on locks, hang them on the exclusive bridge railing, make wishes, and throw the keys into the river—locking in happiness forever.
Unique Features
The design concept draws inspiration from the “convergence” of floating islands, representing the idea that “every drop of happiness is the convergence of love.” The 100-meter-long bridge is adorned with dense floating island graphics, creating a space woven together by love that captures and locks in happiness. The ceiling, walls, and floor follow a cohesive design language, ensuring strong visual harmony throughout.
The main challenge was to maximize commercial space within the constraints of the limited linear transportation setting.

To fully capitalize on the commercial potential of the bridge, the designer reconfigured the internal layout. A central walkway runs through symmetrical bridge openings on both sides, forming a versatile spatial system that supports various functions—including casual leisure, festival food street activities, and cultural events. This transforms the bridge from a simple pedestrian passage into a multifunctional space that adds value and vibrancy to the area.

The interior spaces are designed to be flexible, adapting to different needs and becoming themed gathering spots along the commercial street. This strengthens social connections and fosters emotional engagement among visitors.
Large open bridge openings offer views of the outdoor scenery from various indoor angles while allowing abundant natural light to fill the space.
Serving as an extension of the shopping street, the bridge transcends its traditional role, expanding limited space into an infinite area full of commercial possibilities.
