This project is situated within the Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Creative Industry Park, a vibrant hub of innovation. Shenzhen is a city brimming with opportunities, and this creative park attracts a community of visionary thinkers. The park is enveloped in an artistic atmosphere, featuring renovated factories, abundant greenery, and ancient trees. These elements inspire us to consider how to create memorable and impactful spaces—essential for attracting and retaining visitors. Our goal is to introduce a fresh sense of tension within this artistic environment, breaking through the urban surface, thinking in unconventional ways to achieve new outcomes, and embracing bold actions to stand out.
Exploration: Every designer faces challenges, especially in commercial projects where understanding business models and consumer trends is crucial. In fast-paced commercial environments, obstacles arise frequently. To overcome these, we seek to create unexpected possibilities beyond conventional logic. By abandoning predictable paths, we explore perceived but unrealized states, embracing contingency and adventure. Our aim is to establish a new center—a self-centered approach grounded in market and business logic but also reflecting our unique perspective. This approach embodies the city’s distinctive spirit, driven by fun, exploration, and the pursuit of individuality.
Purity: We amplify the existing forms of complex individuals within the space. What unfolds is a complex spatial environment with unique design elements, each data point distinct and unprecedented. This marks a bold moment in our design process—the first time space is expressed in this manner. Although confident, venturing into uncharted territory brings pressure. Trusting our instincts, we aim to break through invisible boundaries by applying pure design techniques to navigate complex individual elements. Ultimately, the space gestures toward an intangible, fleeting reality beyond the material world.
Storytelling: We create psychedelic visuals that evoke a narrative experience within the space. The story is composed through fleeting images that invite participation. Designer Xie Peihe envisions a space where people contribute to crafting fragmented impressions in an instant. These images provoke a sense of story yet remain indescribable—what the designer terms “psychedelic images.” Constantly emerging and vanishing, these fragments signify the abandonment of fixed plans, giving rise to new symbols. This sense of unpredictability is embraced as a positive and creative fall.
Radicalism | Controlled Provocation: We strive to decode the DNA of the environment, creating divisions within the city’s genetic makeup and reorganizing new textures. Spatial design embodies internal freedom, resembling the heart of future machinery operating across diverse scenarios. The flow of space engages in dialogue with visitors, forming dynamic scene compositions. This spatial interaction contributes to collective memory. The design may evoke caves, spacecraft, neurons, or other forms, yet all depend on a delicate balance—between the calm of daytime coffee and the gentle agitation of nighttime energy.
From a strategic viewpoint, AD Aike Architecture’s spatial design reveals a carefully considered approach beneath its seemingly bold plans. The design team combines years of experience with acute market insight, identifying trends overlooked by clients. Horizontally, they detect market shifts; vertically, they leverage professional design skills to craft a brand interface tailored for high-net-worth consumers. The deliberate spatial distortions explore the logic of law within freedom, linking space and commerce as a means to generate new energy—what they call the essence of an unknown script.
