The project is situated in Jiulonghu Community, Shuangliu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, covering a land area of 12,644.72 square meters. The site is bordered by urban roads to the north and east, a park to the south, and the planned Jiulonghu School to the west. The plan is to construct a kindergarten with 15 classes and a nursery with 3 classes on this site. The terrain is flat and even, offering excellent design conditions. Our goal is to create a building that leaves lasting, beautiful memories of childhood for the children.

Design Concept
Traditional kindergarten layouts are often constrained by factors such as lighting, functionality, and land conditions, resulting in monotonous and uninspired unit arrays. However, the generous land area of this project opens up opportunities to innovate with building layouts and forms. Our design focuses on the unique educational needs of children and aligns with current educational trends. We propose a nature-oriented, future-focused design concept.
The building functions are grouped into multiple clusters. These clusters are flexibly combined to ensure functional efficiency and adaptability, allowing room to accommodate future educational models.

Rich and Varied Forms Inspired by Small Settlements
Every three activity units are grouped together, forming six such clusters within the building. These clusters are thoughtfully and flexibly organized to create a staggered, harmonious relationship between forms. Each group shares a private courtyard and a multifunctional indoor space, fostering a playful environment that feels like a small community for children.

Seamless Integration of Indoor and Outdoor Spaces
The dynamic arrangement of building shapes creates multiple semi-enclosed courtyard spaces, enhancing the connection between the building and the natural environment. This design allows children to experience seasonal changes indoors. Additionally, the inclusion of an enclosed inner courtyard enriches the interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a layered and intersecting spatial experience.

Facade Design in Harmony with Architectural Form
All building blocks feature rounded edges, creating a welcoming atmosphere that suits the characteristics of a kindergarten. The facade treatment follows the architectural form’s design concept by dividing the facade into different color blocks and varying window placements within these blocks. The color palette is carefully controlled, using two shades of orange as the primary colors. These warm tones give the building a lively yet familiar vibe.

Interior Spaces
Continuing the architectural theme, the interior incorporates soft circular elements and consistent color schemes to enhance the connection between indoor and outdoor environments.
