There are relatively few domestic manufacturers involved in BIM software that directly focus on basic modeling. Most rely on their specialized fields to integrate existing information into BIM models for visualization purposes. Currently, comprehensive three-dimensional parametric structural design cannot be fully achieved. Among the more notable software vendors in this space are Guanglian Da, Luban, and Hongye.
Guanglian Da is best known for its budgeting software and has long been rooted in the construction industry. Their BIM software suite includes BIM5D, BIM drawing review, BIM browser, MagicCAD, BIM system calculations (covering civil engineering, steel reinforcement, installation, decoration, and municipal versions), and GCB (BIM construction site layout software), among others. Currently, Guanglian Da focuses primarily on browsing BIM models and managing information based on BIM budgeting. These solutions have been applied in sectors such as residential construction, industrial engineering, and infrastructure. Notable projects include the Olympic Bird’s Nest, Shanghai Disneyland, and Guangzhou East Tower.
Luban Software holds a significant market share in construction engineering quantity calculation and has steadily developed its own software series. Its BIM-related offerings include project basic data solutions, the Luban project basic data analysis system (PDS), LubanMC management cockpit, LubanBIM browser, the multidisciplinary integrated platform LubanBIMWorks, LubanTong price information inquiry solutions, enterprise quota (cost index) solutions, and a range of Luban quantity calculation products. Developed mainly on the Autodesk platform, the Luban series has consistently focused on the construction sector. By integrating BIM technology, Luban software gradually merges its business processes with BIM, leveraging its existing software ecosystem and user base to provide comprehensive project construction management solutions supported by various platform technologies.
Hongye Technology primarily serves the municipal and planning sectors, specializing in information technology and engineering CAD design software. In the planning industry’s IT construction field, Hongye has introduced a range of products including the Planning Management Information System, Basic Geographic Information System, Comprehensive Pipeline Network Information System, Integrated Control and Planning Database, Electronic Approval, Sunshine Analysis, Planning Master Plan, Control and Planning Auxiliary Design, Planning Certification, Topographic Map Management, Multimedia Information Release, and Hongye Internet Call. More than 500 cities nationwide use Hongye’s software in urban planning departments and design institutes, making it one of the leading municipal design software providers. Hongye has also launched its own BIM series, featuring products such as Zulide, Lejian BIM architectural design software, HYBIM plumbing and electrical design software, and Yunzu 360. Currently, these BIM solutions focus on the construction industry and are developed on the Revit platform, primarily serving modeling segments.
