Let’s explore how to simulate the construction of engineering projects using the Fuzor platform through a practical example.
Preparation

Start by opening your model file in Revit. Locate the downloaded Fuzor plugin tab, click the icon shown in Figure 2, and then select “OK” to launch the Fuzor software.

Once inside Fuzor, click the “Navigation Control” button to switch to the familiar Revit navigation mode.

Next, click on ‘More Options’ to access the ‘4D Simulation’ interface.

Click ‘Load’ to import your pre-prepared construction schedule. Fuzor supports multiple file formats as shown in Figure 2, and once imported, the schedule will display as in Figure 3.
Adding General Components

Components can be assigned to their respective tasks. Let’s demonstrate this using structural walls as an example:
- Select the task related to structural walls.
- Hold down the Ctrl key and select all first-level structural walls sequentially.
- Click on ‘Add Selection’ to assign these components to the task.
- The assigned components will then be displayed accordingly.
Adding Components Like Doors, Windows, and Curtain Walls

General components can be added in the same manner as described above. Now, let’s focus on adding doors, windows, and curtain wall components:
- Follow the same procedure: select the relevant task and add door and window components.
- Since the animation for doors and windows differs from walls and columns, click on “Edit Animation”.
- Change the animation style to ‘mobile’.
- Click ‘Move’ again, then adjust the starting position to create a tilted movement path for the doors and windows. Finally, click ‘Finish’.
- The animation effect will then be displayed.
This overview covers the construction simulation process for a sample project. Typically, the workflow involves selecting tasks, adding components, and editing animations accordingly.
In this guide, we demonstrated simulation based on an existing construction schedule. Alternatively, you can manually add time nodes to create construction simulation animations, which allows for further customization.
During the simulation, you can also incorporate construction equipment like tower cranes and excavators, assigning appropriate motion animations to enhance the realism of your simulation.
