Many enterprises and individuals who have witnessed the tangible benefits of BIM technology are increasingly interested in adopting it. However, as an emerging technology, concerns about its high costs remain prevalent. In reality, various housing and construction departments across provinces and cities have issued official documents outlining the pricing standards for BIM applications. For example, let’s take a closer look at the key points from the pricing guidelines issued by Hainan Province:
Scope of Reference Price Application
This pricing applies primarily to new construction projects, including building engineering (such as prefabricated buildings) and comprehensive pipeline gallery engineering.
Additionally, other types of engineering projects, as well as renovation and expansion works, may follow these pricing guidelines accordingly.
Explanation of Reference Prices
1. The BIM technology application service fee is calculated as: Pricing basis × Unit price or rate.
2. The cost base price table refers to fees for a single stage of application service. If services are provided for two stages simultaneously, the total fee is calculated at 65% of the sum of the two single-stage fees.
3. The reference price excludes costs related to BIM application management platforms, BIM technology development, and supporting software or hardware. If these are required, their costs must be negotiated separately by both parties.
4. In cases where BIM application standards exceed those issued by the national or Hainan provincial authorities, costs should be mutually agreed upon, with any increase capped at 20% above the reference price.
5. For projects utilizing prefabricated technology, multiply the reference price by a factor of 1.20.
