This project is situated in a residential neighborhood in Kobe, Japan, overlooking Kobe Bay. The site is positioned on a south-facing slope, with its northern edge facing a circular plaza at the end of a community road.

The owner sought to leverage the site’s unique shape—a quarter circle formed by the alley’s end—for spatial design. We proposed creating a dynamic flow between curved walls that connect the indoor and outdoor staircases with the atrium. This three-dimensional flow, along with the spaces defined by the curved walls, fosters a living environment that seamlessly integrates spatial transitions into everyday life.

On the south side, rectangular rooms are arranged in a curved, goose-shaped layout, separated from the street by a curved wall. The building features a streamlined design that connects various outdoor spaces, including the area beneath the eaves, a terrace enclosed by walls, and a rooftop terrace offering expansive views.
