Revit 2023 has been updated to its latest version, but some users have encountered activation issues. So, what is causing these failures?
Overview of New Features in Revit 2023
1. 3D Measurement
The previous method required changing the work plane in the 3D view to measure elements. This is now a thing of the past. Revit 2023 introduces the ability to measure elements directly within 3D views, significantly improving workflow efficiency and saving time.
2. Filter Schedules by Sheets (Similar to Layer-by-Layer Quantity Calculation)
When working with schedules, it’s often necessary to show information only related to specific drawings. The new Filter by Sheet checkbox added to plan filter properties allows your project schedules to automatically exclude elements not included in the views displayed on the worksheet. This filter updates dynamically when views are changed.
3. Convenient View Indicators
Visual indicators have been added to the Project Browser next to each view. These indicators turn blue once the view has been placed on a drawing, making it easier to track and manage views. Additionally, you can now clearly see which sheet the view is placed on and the associated detail number. This information is visible in the View Name drop-down list, the new Location and View panel on the ribbon, and under View Properties in Identity Data.
4. Fill Patterns in 3D Families
This feature allows family creators and detailers to apply fill patterns in selected views to enhance detail quality (note: this does not apply to 3D views).

Installation Tutorial
Follow these steps carefully to avoid activation issues:
1. Install the main program but do not launch it immediately after installation.
2. Run the Autodesk_Licensed Patcher_2021-2023.exe network license activation patch as an administrator. Wait until the interface closes automatically. (After running the patch once, any Autodesk 2021-2023 products installed later will be activated using the same method, so you don’t need to run the patch again.)
3. Launch the program and select Activate with Network License.
4. Choose Single License Server for the license model, and enter the server name as localhost or 127.0.0.1.
5. Click Finish to enter the main interface of the program.
By following these steps precisely, activation failures should be nearly eliminated.
