BIM (Building Information Modeling) plays a crucial role in architectural design by enforcing constraints based on professional regulations. Its virtual construction capabilities stem from its powerful 3D visualization and time dimension features. This technology allows for direct and rapid comparison between construction methods and actual project progress, without being hindered by external factors. As a result, it facilitates effective multi-party collaboration, enabling all stakeholders to clearly understand project challenges and specific conditions. See Figure 1 for reference.

BIM technology enhances collaborative management by allowing project models created in Revit to be modified and updated by various professional teams through web platforms and model sets. This networked approach enables owners, designers, and contractors located in different offices to access the latest construction information in real time via BIM models. It effectively eliminates inefficiencies caused by traditional methods such as frequent modification meetings and design change discussions.
Thanks to its 3D visualization, BIM offers an intuitive way to detect clashes early in the project. This helps optimize engineering designs and minimizes losses during construction by reducing the need for rework. Furthermore, BIM can optimize floor clearance by enabling construction teams to refine landscaping plans and conduct three-person construction simulations. This process continuously improves construction quality and facilitates clear communication with the project owner.
The data stored in the BIM database is quantifiable and rich with engineering-related information, supporting various project data needs. Additionally, BIM includes fundamental project data that can be shared and collaboratively managed across different departments. Considering differences in spatial and temporal dimensions as well as construction types, BIM allows for effective summarization, breakdown, comparison, and analysis of engineering quantities. This provides accurate technical information promptly, offering decision-makers a solid foundation for informed choices.
