Navisworks is a powerful tool for integrating and managing BIM data and information. It offers various functional modules that allow users to perform tasks such as rendering, clash detection, construction process simulation (4D scheduling), and quantity takeoff.

Navisworks supports data files from a wide range of 3D software, enabling seamless integration, viewing, and review of engineering projects. It can easily read and combine files in DWG format from AutoCAD, 3DS and FBX formats from 3ds Max, as well as formats from non-Autodesk applications such as Bentley MicroStation, Dassault Catia, and Trimble SketchUp, merging them into a unified BIM model.
The software offers various viewing and navigation tools, including walkthroughs and rendering, to help users coordinate and review full BIM models. Navisworks optimizes graphics performance and algorithms to ensure smooth visualization of complex models, even on computers with average hardware, significantly reducing the demands on 3D computing resources.
Main Functional Modules of Navisworks
1. Scene Animation: Create and interact with animated models.
2. Time Scheduling: Link model components to project tasks and simulate project timelines.
3. Quantity Takeoff: Perform automatic or manual quantity calculations based on the model.
4. Clash Detection: Define detection rules and options, review and sort clash results, and generate detailed reports.
