“The wise find joy in water, the benevolent in mountains; those who understand seek movement, the kind find calm; knowledge brings happiness, benevolence ensures longevity.”
— The Analects of Confucius, Yongye Chapter
Multi-Industry Development Pattern
This project marks the first phase of Fenghuanggu Lehuo Town, located within the integrated ecological city of Xinxiang. Nestled in the backyard of Xinxiang City, it lies at the foot of Fenghuangshan Mountain and along the banks of the Dayun River, right in the heart of the new ecological urban area. The town promotes a healthy, eco-friendly, and sustainable lifestyle with an emphasis on natural, refined living that captures the essence of life.
The master plan organizes the town into five core zones: Living and Health Park, Cultural and Creative Park, Wedding Industry Park, Sports and Leisure Park, and Characteristic Agricultural Park. These five industries are designed to coexist harmoniously, supported by comprehensive infrastructure and amenities. The development aims to become a premier leisure and residential destination in the southern Taihang Mountains, fostering diverse business growth. This project is situated within the Residential Health Park area of the town.

△ Main Entrance of the Town
The site is located 15 kilometers from downtown Xinxiang and 4.2 kilometers from the Fengquan District Government. It is surrounded by the Yugongquan and Fenghuangshan scenic areas, with Yunlongshan Children’s Park and the South-to-North Water Diversion River to the south. This prime location boasts excellent ecological and livability potential. The feng shui of facing both mountain and water offers a unique geographical and environmental advantage.
The planned residential land covers approximately 165,000 square meters, including commercial areas, residential units, a kindergarten, and a neighborhood center. The residential offerings primarily consist of Western-style houses and low-rise buildings.

Slow Ecological Valley & Fallingwater Concept
As the saying goes, wise people enjoy mountains, while benevolent people enjoy water. Living near water has long been a natural pursuit. The site slopes from north to south with a 14-meter elevation difference, which the design embraces by creating terraced courtyards and villas. This approach enhances spatial depth and extends scenic views.
The villa area is designed as a distinctive “slow ecological valley,” while the low-rise residential zone stretches from the neighborhood center down to the commercial hotel area, following the path of a gently flowing stream. This “flowing water villa” concept allows residents to enjoy a private ecological landscape, secluded from urban bustle, fostering a sense of peace and tranquility.

The residential layout is flexible and rhythmic, with the low-rise and villa areas divided into clusters by ecological valleys and streams, creating clear zones that remain closely connected.
Wellness Community
The community benefits from its unique geographical and environmental advantages, including convenient transportation and a pristine natural setting. By studying the psychological and physiological needs of the elderly population, the design incorporates age-friendly features across planning, architecture, and spatial arrangements.
The layout emphasizes clear zoning and comprehensive functionality, with low-rise buildings as the main focus. Elevators are installed in all residential buildings and supporting facilities. Accessible pedestrian walkways and anti-slip ramps are provided throughout, ensuring ease of movement and safety.

△ Community Neighborhood Center
The community features a neighborhood center equipped with recreational facilities including a library, cafeteria, senior lecture hall, rehabilitation and fitness room, activity room, and a tea house, all aimed at supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of the elderly. Integrated with the pedestrian park paths of the slow ecological valley, the flowing water landscape of the villas, fitness and eldercare services, seasonal greenery, and a user-friendly guidance system, the community fosters a healthy and nurturing environment.
Spatial planning carefully considers the elderly’s living experience, focusing on public spaces, indoor environments, and convenient facilities.
Sponge City Concept
The project embraces sponge city principles by implementing comprehensive measures such as infiltration, retention, storage, purification, utilization, and discharge to capture and reuse 70% of on-site rainfall. The annual runoff control rate is designed to be no less than 70%.
Rainwater is collected and purified for use in flushing public squares and parking lots, irrigating green spaces, and replenishing landscape water bodies. By integrating green infrastructure with community open spaces, roads, buildings, and water features, the design reduces the footprint and cost of rainwater management facilities while enhancing system efficiency.

Eastern Elegance
The design adopts a blend of New Asian and traditional Chinese architectural styles, inspired by Han and Tang dynasty characteristics. By deeply understanding and refining traditional culture, the project merges modern and traditional elements to achieve a rich architectural charm that meets contemporary aesthetic demands.

The building facades employ a three-stage design using materials such as natural stone, stone paint, and dark gray tiles to convey a sense of dignity. Traditional Chinese architectural elements like the staggered large eaves roof and wall reliefs reflect a pursuit of elegance, subtlety, dignity, and prosperity, embodying the spirit of Eastern heritage and historical style.
Conclusion
The first phase of Fenghuanggu Lehuo Town presents a poetic residence infused with Chinese elegance, communicated through a concise and refined architectural language. By prioritizing the preservation of the natural ecological landscape and integrating green technologies, the project achieves a balanced cycle of natural energy. It fosters an organic connection between architecture and nature, creating tranquil, leisurely courtyards enriched by serene ecological landscapes. This development invites residents to embrace the beauty of nature and build a joyful, harmonious home within the city.
