Taishi Beast is a Thai-style tea restaurant with a unique brand culture that caters to young consumers seeking distinctive dining experiences. Embracing the concept of “Eat Like a Local,” it breaks the monotony and noise of traditional tea shops by creating spaces infused with pure Eastern retro style. The lively lifestyle ambiance is preserved while offering a youthful and fashionable interior environment. Originating in Xi’an, Taishi Beast has expanded through five cities and recently partnered with us in Nanjing to create a new spatial collaboration. Here, diners can embark on a flavorful adventure within the exquisite setting of an American theater.

Taishi Beast is located on Laifeng Street in Qinhuai District, housed within a creative park that was once an industrial factory. The site’s predecessor, Nanjing Second Machine Tool Factory, lends the restaurant a rich historical texture through its preserved industrial architecture, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the space. The designers aim to use food as a medium to engage with the local post-industrial culture, blending Southeast Asian cuisine into the urban culinary DNA of Nanjing.

The entrance waiting area features wild green plants that echo the natural landscape surrounding the exterior red brick factory building. A giant animal-themed brand installation sits atop the eaves, serving as a playful and inviting landmark visible from the street. This design cleverly extends the leisure area, offering a spectacular view. Amidst the entrepreneurial park bustling with cultural enterprises, Taishi Beast stands out by breaking the routine with its vibrant and lively image.

Inside the dining space, a retro atmosphere is created with dark green tones that complement the preserved historical features. Soft-textured dining tables and chairs are paired with red leather sofas lining the walls. The original cement-gray mottled walls are accented with creative antique furniture, while bone china tableware sourced from overseas reflects the owner’s refined taste. High-transparency doors and windows scatter natural light across the interior, illuminating dense indoor plants that adorn the mottled walls and floors. This layered space offers diners a relaxed environment to fully enjoy authentic Thai cuisine throughout the day.
