BIM Architecture | Avenue Non Form - Exploring Style-Free Design with AOE Construction Team

AOE Architecture Group was founded in 2016, inspired by the renowned quote from American architect and theorist Bernard Tschumi: “There is no architecture without an event.”

This philosophy forms the core of AOE Construction Group’s approach to architecture. Emerging in a dynamic and rapidly evolving era, the group embraces vitality and rejects exaggerated, superficial decoration. Instead, it focuses on exploring the relationship between users and architectural space. The team prioritizes logically constructed environments—carefully considering materials, structure, and craftsmanship—while opposing mere formalistic design. AOE Construction Group consistently adheres to the principles of cultural inheritance and innovation, transcending mere form to inspire diverse “architectural events.”

Over the past four years, AOE Construction Group has embarked on a distinctive creative journey, showcasing six carefully selected representative projects. These works reflect thoughtful exploration into humanities, art, nature, technology, and material innovation. Each building is thoroughly researched and designed in response to its city, context, environment, terrain, and community. Beyond meeting homeowners’ needs, these buildings contribute positively to the living environment, creating beautiful spaces for users to live and work.

In architectural evolution, form emerges as a logical outcome, with events serving as the source of this logic. Variations in influencing factors during the design process lead to diverse final forms, which define the unique character of AOE’s team.

AOE Construction Group believes architecture is not defined solely by architects; styles and genres are subjective interpretations of the objective world. While fulfilling fundamental functional requirements, buildings can possess infinite possibilities—architects are simply discoverers and facilitators of these potentials through their expertise.

The following six projects illustrate how the AOE Construction Team crafts spaces that inspire meaningful events.

Unlike Western architecture, which often emphasizes geometric forms built from bricks and stone, Chinese architectural tradition highlights the logical beauty of structural elements. Traditional buildings follow natural mechanical laws through components such as columns, beams, wooden arches, rafters, and curved roofs. This project applies these aesthetic principles while overcoming traditional material constraints.

Modern metal materials are utilized to create a detachable, eco-friendly exterior facade. The natural sagging of the metal forms graceful, dynamic arcs. The overhanging eaves produce a shaded gray space that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding natural environment, embodying a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Semi-transparent green metal curtain materials subtly transition between interior and exterior spaces, enriching spatial layers while providing energy-saving sunshade functions.

The ecological forest surrounding the exhibition hall forms the core of the design. Circular spaces are divided into indoor and outdoor plazas. The entrance’s fountain square is encircled by three semicircular outdoor spaces, while the Italian square is framed by ruins of Roman arches. These plazas and outdoor theaters reproduce typical Italian city square forms. Visitors can reach Piazza del Popolo through an eaves corridor and ascend curved stairs to two rooftop gardens juxtaposing natural vegetation and stone. From the rooftop, cultural corridors and bridges connect to the Chinese Culture Museum, symbolizing the Silk Road’s land and water routes between East and West.
