The project is situated in the heart of Nanshan Houhai, Shenzhen, on the west side of the southern section of Zhongxin Road. The corporate headquarters aims to become an iconic symbol of the enterprise. However, the company’s philosophy and culture are abstract and challenging to visualize. Therefore, the design focuses on the first impression the corporate brand imparts—simple, direct, and memorable architectural imagery.

Xizhilang’s first impression evokes jelly pudding, which often symbolizes warmth, happiness, youthful vitality, and clarity. Inspired by this, the design features a crystal-clear appearance with enticing “fruit pulp particles” embedded inside the jelly-like structure.

Corporate headquarters often demand a strong commemorative presence that reflects ambitions for a lasting legacy. Throughout history, the most memorable architectural style is undoubtedly “Monolithic Architecture,” which uses a single, pure geometric form to convey an eternal and majestic presence—much like a monumental single stone.

Given the relatively modest scale of this project, the single-stone technique is more appropriate than combining multiple volumes. This approach creates a clear distinction between the Kijiro Building’s design language and its surroundings, emphasizing its unique identity.

The building’s exterior facade is composed of grid windows in four different sizes. Although the tower maintains a simple, square shape, the varied window grids introduce unexpected, organic textures reminiscent of the growth and transformation of biological cells. Carefully arranged sky gardens within the grid structure allow visitors to experience the building’s dynamic changes from multiple angles and distances throughout the city.
The grid serves not only as the building’s outer skin but also as its structural framework. This design eliminates the need for internal columns, except for the core tube, thereby offering great flexibility for interior spaces.

The headquarters adopts a regular shape and a facade inspired by biological cells, symbolizing the company’s stability, grandeur, vitality, and rapid growth. Starting from a basic quadrilateral grid, the building expands into a large urban landscape that carries the DNA of traditional Chinese culture.
Its clean, neat, upright, and dignified posture reflects the essential qualities a corporate headquarters should embody. This presence contributes an energetic atmosphere to the city and inspires those who work within the building.
