The Risch residence is situated on a corner plot within a gated residential community. Designed for a family of five, this home carefully balances the residents’ needs with the community’s regulations. The design also incorporates strategies to control construction costs and timelines effectively.

To shield the home from rain and direct sunlight, the exterior is enclosed, yet the design opens up inwardly to the plot’s interior. This approach ensures abundant natural light reaches every area within the house.

The house’s simple structure allows seamless integration between the garden and living/dining areas. Sliding panels along the broad edges of the plot create spatial continuity, effectively dissolving the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The compact design employs simple materials, efficient construction methods, and easy maintenance, resulting in a practical, understated, and straightforward architectural form.
