A group of determined individuals with lofty ideals, we embrace every opportunity for talent to shine and commit ourselves to standing alongside you. The beauty of life lies in stepping beyond the ordinary, not in always being absolutely right. We follow the pure expression of our primal instincts and honor the freedom of the humanities. Drawing inspiration from the macro and micro worlds, nature, humanities, history, psychology, and education, we challenge narrow worldviews, embracing the shared past of humanity as our own, and move forward together. We firmly believe that our collaboration will create works that inspire and benefit more families and children.Meditation and Contemplation

We have always believed that divinity and humanity will make a shared promise at some point. Through constant ‘reboots’, we ask ourselves: What is the ideal kindergarten for children? Must a kindergarten be built with blocks? What is the soul of a kindergarten? Is it uniform? Day after day, mediocrity wears down talent, passion, and hope, trapping them in a cycle of mundanity.
A Love and Passion Rooted in Primal Energy

Ways of forming connections vary greatly as time passes. When opportunity arises, the first step is to ‘recognize oneself’. In this journey of self-discovery, creation flourishes. The original power of all environments lies in the freedom of imagination. With a paintbrush, architecture comes to life—each stroke layering rationality and sensibility, responding simply and primitively to the world.
The Journey of the Dandelion Has Just Begun

Boundaries, horizons, and depths are limitless. Where does the essence of symbolism, creation, exploration, and multifaceted design reside? At this moment, everything begins anew—unnamed yet alive in a world where all things grow, amidst dazzling vitality and every intense gaze. It embodies the initial vitality within the heart.
The Magical Dandelion Seed Begins Its Own Story

What surprises emerge when inspiration meets architectural language? We have discussed and imagined countless possibilities: perhaps a kindergarten crowned with a stacked rooftop garden, or maybe a magical dandelion seed?
Unveiling the Story Behind the Design

Time’s gears keep turning, and 2020 draws to a close. Before these photos were shared, much care was taken—connecting details, conducting surveys, demonstrations, and plotting slopes. It is hard to capture how this project reached this stage and endured. These photos authentically record the stories behind every Deca-designed project. We believe that the collective effort of the team will make Guangzhou Shengguo International Kindergarten live up to all expectations.
Looking at these photos, one can’t help but imagine the stories behind each silhouette. These construction images evoke memories, as if time reverses, recreating the scenes before us.
The exploration of stories and essence within architecture is fascinating. The power to restore a building’s rightful place through design is profound. Even as teak rots and everything changes, the spirit and emotions embodied in powerful architecture endure. Behind every work, there is always a dedicated team.

Construction Process: Main Building Emergence

Project Overview

Shengguo (Yushan International) Kindergarten spans 7,300 square meters with a building area of 5,580 square meters. It is a premium full-time bilingual private kindergarten operated by Hejing Education Group and a significant urban landmark project by the Dika Kindergarten Design Center. Inspired by the ‘Dandelion’ concept and the use of circular elements, the design aligns with the physical and psychological development of preschoolers. It integrates modern educational facilities with an ecological natural environment, creating a nurturing space where children can freely express themselves and discover their unique identities.

Floor Plan

Form Generation

Dandelions take root instantly upon landing, displaying incredible adaptability and tenacity. When mature, they release seeds carried by the wind, flying freely without concern for where their offspring will land. This reflects the educational philosophy of Shengguo International Kindergarten: children grow by planting seeds of freedom, courage, and dreams. Instead of directing their paths, we give them wings to fly toward a bright future. The philosophy of teaching children ‘how to fish’ is deeply intertwined with the dandelion concept at Shengguo International Kindergarten.

Architecture as a Form of Faith

The creative process is indescribable, constantly unearthing powerful forces from the smallest details. Light from around the world awaits capture, and dreams from an ideal realm seem to reflect into reality. Standing on undeveloped land, we understand the true needs of kindergarten architecture. Perhaps the meeting of architecture and inspiration is a natural, timeless event tied to eternity.
Architectural Projects Presented as Models

A lively kindergarten does not necessarily possess a soul, and good educational concepts are not merely written on walls. Only by infusing creativity into daily life, stroke by stroke, can a rich spiritual world be built—one that subtly permeates and enriches every corner of the soul. Architectural Rendering

At a Moment When Divinity Meets Humanity

All primal environmental forces embody the freedom of imagination. Amid mysterious beams of light and the gentle sound of water descending from above, children may feel transported beyond reality into another time, space, and world.
In a World Where All Things Grow

Architecture is designed to enhance education and make it more effective. Only by creating authentic educational environments can children truly feel it. We hope the spirit and vitality expressed through architecture endure over time. Even as surfaces weather and peel, this ‘dandelion seed’ stands quietly, blending with the changing world of light, shadow, clouds, water, and the growth of all things.

Growing Amid Continuous Change

Considering regional factors, the building uses reinforced concrete as the main structure, supplemented by steel frames, creating dynamic curves in its appearance. Double corridors with inner and outer rings and glass curtain walls on the main facade introduce ample sunlight, ensuring the building meets requirements for sunlight, ventilation, moisture resistance, insulation, and sun protection. It is also designed to withstand seasonal typhoons.
The continuous flow between the inner and outer rings breaks traditional spatial constraints, connecting functional areas of different natures. Children gather here to experience a world of color, like a vast blue ocean. The uncertain spaces may become part of children’s spatial memories and growth, with impressions of growth subtly engraved in every corner through the passage of time.
Designed for Endurance

Continuity is the master key, and the bond between humans and nature is an intangible connection that unites all. When a building transcends materiality and enters another realm, projecting current thoughts into the future, the transitions between spaces infuse concepts throughout. Without a doubt, this building will withstand the test of time.

Time Scales

Space flows as all elements of heaven and earth converge in this moment. Beneath the ruins lie infinite possibilities for rebirth, and children sense beauty in the growth of all things. This is the power of life’s flow.
Curves and straight lines merge, balancing dynamic and static areas. The sharp contrasts and spatial uncertainties do not impose assumptions on children but rather provide a free space to stretch their imagination. Inspired by such contrasts, children naturally begin to find their place as they grow.
Sunshine fills the space with vibrant colors, giving children freedom to grow. The lively dialogue between space, the random play of light and shadow, and the sharp lines evoke emotions, creating a natural artistic experience within the kindergarten.

Grateful to Have Found ‘It’

Vivid scenes, every word and action breathe life into architecture. Architecture moves because of life, and life shines because of architecture. The sincere eyes of children sparkle with touching brilliance, silently moving all who witness them. They embody simplicity, kindness, sincerity, and beauty.
The breathing of water systems, sight, and breath are intangible and indescribable, like immeasurable buildings. Children sense their presence and immense power through experience. The changing ripples of water in light and shadow are subtle; children capture these shifts through touch, approaching them infinitely with the measure of time.
Listening to the First Voice

The design emphasizes transparency and visual continuity. Large glass areas fuse the natural landscape outside with the interior, allowing natural light and energy to flow freely, immersing children in daylight in every corner.
Dynamic design breaks from the traditional kindergarten layout of one corridor with many classrooms by eliminating unnecessary decorations and interspersing functional educational public spaces among classrooms. This integration of dynamic and static areas provides more space for children to explore, encouraging them to break conventions and satisfy their exploratory and social needs at different developmental stages.

The Dance of Light and Shadow

At sunrise, sunlight casts a unique beauty upon the walls. The warm, powerful light harmonizes with the surfaces, surpassing even nature’s creations. Those elements absent in nature can be overshadowed by the ‘artificial’ in awe.

Light is everything—without it, there is no life. In architecture, measurable light, space, and order reveal the deep shadows and inner beliefs hidden behind the light. Louis Kahn’s words resonate: ‘The sun never knows how great it is until it shines on the building.’
Each dome converses with the sun’s light, whispering as if an oracle speaks in silence, touching the hearts of all who witness.

Structures create light and shadow. When sunlight filters through circular openings, each acts as a magnifying glass amplifying countless souls and freedoms. Children running beneath these magnified spaces become key participants in measuring, exploring, reading, and experiencing the architecture. This establishes a profound relationship between children, architecture, and the environment.

Certain places freeze specific moments in memory, where symmetrical, orderly, pure, and authentic materials and geometric forms cast shadows that evoke thought and imagination. Disorderly nature invites children into the beauty of dreams, a natural yet human-crafted architectural wonder.
Meaning, Creation, and Exploration Beyond a Single Perspective

Like water flowing on a boat, the design avoids fixed perspectives, sparking curiosity and revealing contradictions and coexistence. A diverse range of children’s play facilities includes an educational water system that aligns with children’s interests. Through manual interaction with water features, children’s imagination about architectural space is stimulated, providing irreplaceable nourishment for their growth.
Carefully Arranged Construction Details

A quality kindergarten must provide spaces where children experience the changing times of day and seasons. Space is the fundamental component of architecture, influencing children’s behavior in large and small environments. Kindergarten design is not just solving practical problems but opening up new worlds children truly need.

Children’s growth thrives on nature and freedom. Large play installations stimulate exploration beyond handheld toys. We envision the kindergarten not only as a physical space but as a nurturing environment, transforming the spatial setting into a rich educational resource for teachers and parents. It supports children’s play and exploration, offering multidimensional experiences that satisfy their curiosity about the world.

About ‘Love’—Stay Here

The best ideas often emerge from the faintest whispers, like the hand of God. Exploration unlocks children’s rich imaginations and drives attentive discovery.
Reflections on the Search Outcome

Every element on campus sparks unpredictable inspiration. We observe both the small and large aspects of things. A lively kindergarten does not guarantee a soul, but its soul and culture are vital factors that keep it vibrant and sustainable.
Boundless exploration combined with educational philosophies helps children discover a profound love for life. It stands quietly in the universe of light, shadow, clouds, and flowing water—like a solitary, devout prayer shining brightly beyond time and space.
