This bright daycare center, located in Nishijo City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is filled with the warmth of wood and natural light from the Seto Inland Sea. Nishijo City is known for its distinctive red roof tiles and sake breweries. Reflecting the local character, this building features a warm tone with red roof tiles handcrafted by skilled artisans.

The building incorporates a unique “Igura” structure in the playroom, creating a spacious and bright environment. Additionally, natural light filters through the membrane roof, enhancing the interior’s openness. An innovative cultural touch is added by repurposing sake bags from the local brewery as indoor lighting fixtures, allowing children to engage with local heritage as they play.
