Located at the intersection of Rama I and Ratchadamri roads in central Bangkok, this project is designed to be a striking architectural landmark within the bustling Central World Square. It has become a new social hub for the city, serving as a vibrant backdrop for major celebrations like New Year’s Eve and other annual festivals.
This flagship store is the result of a collaboration between Apple Inc. and Norman Foster+Partners, with additional local support from F& Local P Ltd (Bangkok) and Architects 49 Ltd.

Positioned at the southern edge of Central World Square, the flagship store offers a welcoming public space while paying homage to the four Buddha statues located across the street. The architects introduced a new bridge above the store, linking it to the BTS walkway and giving visitors a unique vantage point to observe the urban traffic below.
The building features a two-story glass facade measuring 24.4 meters in height, supported by an intricately designed conical structure. This conical support, created by rotating a Bezier curve 360 degrees, has a concave surface at its apex, adding both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity.

The conical support is crafted from 1,461 pieces of European white oak, which are laminated onto spruce cores to enhance structural stability and wrapped in a warm wooden finish. The meticulous edge detailing ensures that air is fully expelled from the central structure of the sound-absorbing backing layer, enhancing acoustic performance.

The connection between the upper and lower levels is a signature spiral staircase, where each step is suspended from the central support. The steps undergo a detailed polishing process, creating a sculptural and refined aesthetic. The all-glass facade offers a 360-degree panoramic view, blending interior greenery with the dense urban landscape outside to create a striking contrast.

To provide ample outdoor shading, the architect designed a 3-meter-long roof overhang. The glass facade seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a comfortable public environment where city residents can relax amidst natural greenery.
