The Fengsheng 101 project is situated next to Lixin Avenue in Zengcheng, Guangzhou. To the north, it overlooks Nanxiang Mountain, while to the south, it faces Guangzhou’s Pearl River New City. It benefits from the prime regional advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Innovation Corridor. Integrated with the surrounding transport network, this development contributes to establishing the Greater Bay Area’s one-hour living circle.
As the main developer, Fengle Group embraces the Greater Bay Area’s growth demands with a concept that is business-friendly, creativity-driven, and livable. The project aims to create a comprehensive complex blending corporate headquarters, star-rated hotels, trendy commercial spaces, and garden-style residences — offering a free, comfortable, and elegant environment for talent across the region.

The project covers approximately 150,000 square meters, with GWP leading the design of the 200-meter-high complex in Phase II, which includes hotels, offices, apartments, and retail spaces. During conversations with Fengle Group’s senior management, the chief architect learned that the company has evolved from pioneering innovations in the energy sector to diversifying into real estate and investments, navigating the rapid development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.

Expressing Dynamic Trends Through Solid Architecture
Architecture should inspire imagination, vitality, and creativity. The “Fengsheng 101” concept, from structural blocks to the sailing motif, harmonizes and balances building form, spatial experience, ventilation, lighting, and more to create a rich and distinctive architectural expression. Our goal is to evoke joy and spiritual excitement among locals, fostering a strong sense of belonging at work and in life.

GWP advocates for architecture as a poetic space, creating unique images and atmospheres by balancing beauty. The design team prioritizes a human-centered approach for this landmark high-rise, focusing on natural lighting, ventilation, and integration with ecological landscapes. Multi-level interactive open spaces enrich the project’s personality and charm while complementing its architectural and structural elegance.

The architect draws inspiration from the idea of setting sail, using solid architectural forms to express dynamic movement. This approach brings citizens closer to the community and nature, integrating the project naturally into the urban fabric.
The building’s form centers on its core tube, split into two blocks oriented north and south, with staggered column spans east to west. The facade is shaped like a sail, smoothly descending and lightly resting on the podium, forming a canopy. The podium and tower are elegantly unified, enhancing the city skyline with a natural, organic silhouette.
From above, the new urban landscape harmonizes with the natural and cultural surroundings, becoming a striking feature of Guangzhou and the entire Greater Bay Area.

The Structural Elegance of Architectural Form
A successful building achieves organic balance. Great design is not necessarily complex or costly. Fengsheng 101 not only delivers an energetic architectural shape but also ingeniously resolves the project’s major structural challenges, achieving multiple objectives simultaneously.

The building’s structure fully embraces the mechanical beauty of its form. Through the interlocking relationship between two mutually supportive blocks and the core tube, along with precisely controlled height-to-width ratios, the design enhances the structure’s overall stability and wind resistance while creating a transparent north-south space.
The exterior facade and roof surface treatments effectively reduce wind pressure on the high-rise, offering significant cost savings compared to traditional tower structures.

The Architectural Language of Facade Curves
The unique design presents challenges in coordinating construction drawings and equipment, requiring frequent communication and collaboration among various teams. The strict control and detailed discussions in each coordination meeting are essential to the project’s progress and successful execution. We eagerly anticipate the completion of this landmark.

One distinctive feature of the facade is the seamless, natural transition from the tower to the podium. At the junction of the sky garden platform and the podium, the tower’s exterior facade extends downward, creating a curved canopy. Beneath this canopy lies an open multifunctional space suitable for wedding ceremonies, dining, exhibitions, and other public events.

The Breathing Life Building
GWP’s design integrates Fengle’s vision into a fashion-forward and modern architectural expression, highlighting artistic beauty while respecting humanity. This living building will become a defining icon of the city.
— Zhang Dalin, Investment Decision Maker of Fengsheng 101 Project and Chairman of Fengle Group
The dynamic twisting form adds unique rhythmic beauty to the structure. The design team carefully crafted the facade to harmonize with the surrounding environment from various perspectives. The east facade, together with the adjacent Fengle Energy Building, creates a cohesive architectural language that enhances leisure and walking experiences within the park.

The design employs staggered building blocks to create aerial landscape platforms on the north and south sides, extending the surrounding ecological green space vertically along the facade to the rooftop garden. The lush greenery forms two beautiful aerial corridors, offering vertically distributed ecological spaces that enhance the landscape experience on every floor.

In the landscape design, the team continued the building’s main design concept, echoing the sail’s shape with gentle sea breezes. The front square features a water landscape inspired by wind blades, evoking a maritime atmosphere with rising waves and scattered white sails. The paving, greenery, and streamlined design complement the adjacent Fengle Energy Building. Green and ecological elements are fully integrated into the commercial square, seamlessly connecting with the surrounding urban green spaces to create a unified three-dimensional landscape, infusing nature’s comfort into urban life.
