River Studio, one of the initial three-unit combinations, is a minimalist one-bedroom house designed to address the unique constraints and opportunities presented by its narrow site. The site’s extremely slim natural features require pathways leading to the main houses, so we suspended small studios and bedrooms above the driveway, creating additional upper-level space.

The living room, confined to a width of less than 8 meters, was cleverly rotated to maximize its length and exposure. Adjacent to it, a small swimming pool and garden were incorporated to enhance the outdoor experience.

The upper floor features an A-frame roof atop the attic, giving the suspended volume above the driveway a distinctive silhouette. This design shields the area below from sunlight while ensuring privacy. The combination of steel, wood, and concrete materials ensures both durability and comfort.

The house’s soft color palette harmonizes with the surrounding greenery and tea fields, while carefully selected artworks add functionality and character to the space.
