This residence beautifully demonstrates the versatility and structural strength of concrete, highlighting numerous architectural details that deserve close attention.

During the early design phase, model making serves as a crucial tool for exploring material forms, structural functions, modular combinations, and transparency. The model’s exterior uses vertical and horizontal light wood strips to represent the concrete beams, columns, and skylights, crafted to standardized dimensions. This approach reveals the clear structural concept envisioned by the designer. When it came to construction, the model was precisely recreated at full scale using pine battens, maintaining its structural integrity. The resulting grooves between panels elegantly emphasize the modular divisions as intended by the design.

The concrete mesh suspended above the swimming pool and adjacent residential areas blurs the line between indoor and outdoor spaces. The pool extends deep into the home, becoming a central feature in the design of the surrounding triple-volume courtyard. Inside, a series of framed openings allow outdoor greenery to flow into the interior, enriching the spatial experience with natural elements.
