This project is located within an industrial park in southern Beijing, originally part of an urban renewal initiative. The single-story space covers 1,600 square meters and features a 5.5-meter ceiling height, offering ample potential for future expansion. The owner, Dongfang Qimingxing, is a leading brand in domestic youth basketball education. The company’s headquarters for its domestic BIM learning team is currently being developed by Guancheng.

After a decade of growth, Dongfang Qimingxing has refined its core values of “ultimate goodness and progress.” How can spatial design effectively convey the company’s philosophy? How can the stadium area for training and course development be organically integrated with the office space? How can we foster a positive, innovative work atmosphere for everyone? These questions have guided the design process from the start.
“The Force is an energy field created by all living things, surrounding and penetrating us, with the power to bind the galaxy together.” – Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars.
The concept of the Force in Star Wars aligns closely with the values of Dongfang Qimingxing. Inspired by this, we aim to create a “Rising Star” — a space filled with positive energy that serves as a shared home for all rising talents.
The space is divided into two zones: the futuristic “alien space” symbolizing progress, and the “Qiming Planet Oasis,” representing ultimate goodness. We restructured the steel framework, expanding the usable area to 2,600 square meters. The steel structure, reminiscent of a battleship skeleton, seamlessly connects the alien space with the oasis.

Welcome to Qiming Planet
The elevator hall has been transformed into a time and space tunnel, inviting visitors to journey through parallel dimensions and arrive on Qiming Planet.

Qiming Planet Oasis serves as a spiritual home for every Qiming star. It is a place where creativity converges and energy transforms. Work here transcends routine tasks; it becomes a platform for self-realization and collective ambition.
Upon entering the office, the design preserves the 5.5-meter-high atrium and incorporates abundant greenery. The flexible lounge areas accommodate various activities, including small team meetings and brainstorming sessions. Beyond traditional stairs, the BIM tutorial space includes playful elements like slides and fire poles, enhancing connectivity between floors and turning this central ecological garden into a vibrant gathering spot.
The design cleverly integrates the English name “Qimingxing” with the entrance, warehouse, telephone room, and leisure areas.

The Yixing Space functions as both a basketball court and fitness area for Dongfang Qimingxing. The owner envisions a seamless integration of the basketball court with office spaces to support training and course development. This multifunctional area also hosts large conferences and events. The stadium includes versatile lighting options to accommodate various scenarios.
