Strolling Through the Forest: Exploring ‘Lu Zhou Li’
Behind the rapid growth of Chengdu’s 7 million square meters of commercial space lies fierce competition. Why take a walk here? Because this place is filled with vibrant greenery, and here, leisure shopping offers a unique and refreshing experience.
This 90,000 square meter commercial block is shaped like an L, running along the north side of Tianfu Second Street and the east side of Ronghua South Road, creating a clear and distinct commercial flow. The premium row of commercial villas faces west along Fuhua South Road and overlooks the river. Key tenants include Metro AG Supermarket, Starbucks, and numerous trendy brands.

Step Into a Forest Castle
The project’s open layout, diverse business formats, forest-themed landscaping, innovative recreational experiences, and green ecological plant facades set it apart. This creates a shared experiential block with a strong “new forest” vibe, embodying the joyful spirit of urban leisure.

A Perfect Place for Families and Children
At “Luzhou Li,” families with children are often seen enjoying the outdoor spaces. Ecological experience zones with diverse themes line both sides of the block, featuring a children’s playground inspired by “forest stories” and imaginative fun. This playground combines ecology, thematic settings, children’s entertainment, and leisure, regularly updating with popular cartoon themes like Winnie the Pooh, Giraffe, and Boonie Bears, all of which have become favorite characters of “Luzhou Li”.

Luzhou has become a vibrant playground for children.

Since opening fully on November 16, 2017, “Luzhou Li” has become an essential commercial hub in the Dayuan residential area of southern Chengdu. The project’s design is based on Benchmark’s “five-dimensional” concept for an enhanced commercial experience:
- Understanding the city’s needs
- Emphasizing complexity and diversity
- Creating clear commercial flow paths and spaces
- Aligning commercial space with human behaviors and psychological needs
- Encouraging cross-industry integration
These five design principles seamlessly blend forest landscapes, interactive BIM tutorials, and artistic elements into the commercial environment. The result is an open, experiential block with a strong “new forest” character, tailor-made to suit the lifestyle and preferences of residents in southwest China, especially Chengdu.

“Luzhou Li” symbolizes a future lifestyle. It has become a top choice for shopping and leisure for Dayuan Community residents and draws visitors from across the southern city. It serves not only as a commercial complex but as a family-friendly amusement park, popular social media check-in spot, and a mixed-use community model that encourages sharing and interaction—reflecting the social responsibility embraced by urban designers in the benchmark area.
