How to Change the Origin Point of Steel Mesh in Revit

How to Adjust the Origin of a Revit Steel Mesh

The origin of a steel mesh defines the point where the mesh is placed within the project. This origin restricts the placement of the main protective layer and helps to accurately capture the edges, lap joints, midpoints, and reference lines in the drawing. By default, the origin is set at the bottom-left corner of the drawing. To view or reposition this origin, simply select the placed steel mesh.

When selected, the origin point displays the X and Y axis references of the steel mesh’s local coordinate system.

You can click and drag the origin point to a new location. This adjustment applies project-wide and will update all steel mesh sheets accordingly.

Note: While the origin point itself cannot be rotated, it will rotate along with the steel mesh if the mesh is rotated.
