We designed a meditation and contemplation sanctuary nestled in the forest just outside Munich, near Ludwig II’s iconic Neuschwanstein Castle.

Das Kanzbach, a world-renowned hot spring resort, offers visitors a serene environment to practice yoga and meditation.

The site is located adjacent to a dense fir forest. We crafted fir wood planks, each 30cm wide, and stacked them like branches to form a transitional space between the vast forest and the modest buildings. This arrangement creates a harmonious medium, allowing visitors to seamlessly blend into the natural surroundings.
These wooden boards also diffuse the sunlight filtering through the skylights, mimicking the dappled light patterns commonly found in forests.
