How to Adjust the Position of Elevation-Based Components in Revit

How to Modify the Position of Elevation-Based Components in Revit

1. Elevation-based components include items such as furniture, plants, and bathroom fixtures. These components automatically adopt the current work plane when placed. To adjust the position of a component, it is recommended to use the method of picking up a new host. This way, the component will update its position automatically as the host’s position changes.

2. Select the elevation-based components in a section or elevation view. Then, go to the Modify tab and choose the Pick Up New Host command.

3. In the drawing area, highlight the desired new host—this could be a floor, surface, or elevation—and click to complete moving the component.
