How to Arrange Revit Plan Views According to Elevation
After creating and renaming elevations, the next step is to create the corresponding plan views. Often, you may notice that your floor plan views are not ordered according to the elevations as you would like. For example, as shown in the image below:
So, how can we arrange Revit plan views based on their elevation order? This requires adjusting the Project Browser organization settings, specifically using the Browser Organization feature.
Follow these steps:
- Open Browser Organization.
- Create a new Organization Type.
By default, the view organization type is set to All, which is non-editable. Therefore, we need to either select a different type or create a new one. Here, we will create a new organization type.
Set up the new organization as follows:
- Filtering — Select None.
- Sort by — Choose Combination.
- Make sure to select the arrangement rule you just created.
Now, let’s check the result.
Do you notice the change? You might wonder why the site plan is placed in a particular position. This happens because the site’s foundation elevation is also considered a floor plan, but its view range is set very specifically.
