The Shenzhen University Xuefu Hospital project, constructed by the Shenzhen Municipal Construction and Engineering Bureau and contracted by the Shenzhen Construction Engineering Group, was among the first recipients of the China Construction Engineering Luban Award for 2018-2019. This project exemplifies excellence in engineering quality and safety management, serving as a valuable reference and model for future construction endeavors.
1. Engineering Quality Appreciation
The foundation of the hospital is solid and reliable, with 94% of the piles classified as Class I, and no piles falling into Class III or IV categories.

The concrete structures are robust internally and visually appealing externally, with precise dimensions.

Infill walls are constructed to specification, featuring fully mortared joints.

Building settlement is uniform and stable, ensuring structural integrity.

The real stone paint wall exhibits a uniform color and clearly defined joints.

The glass curtain wall installation is firm, with straight joints and all four property tests passed successfully.

The building is effectively waterproof, with no leakage observed even after typhoon and heavy rain testing.

The indoor ceilings feature innovative and diverse designs, with high-quality crystalline silicon composite panels and aluminum buckle panels that are firmly installed and durable.

Stone and ceramic tile flooring is laid flat with tight joints, ensuring a high-quality finish.

The decorative walls are smooth and polished, demonstrating excellent craftsmanship.

Bathroom details include three-dimensional seam matching, symmetrical centering of sanitary ware, and precise spacing.

The electromechanical system operates steadily, with firmly installed equipment and effective shock absorption.

The pipeline arrangement is comprehensive, orderly, and clearly labeled.

Distribution cabinets are installed neatly with organized wiring following specifications.

Pipeline wells are finely constructed, meeting standards for sealing through-wall pipelines.

The logistics transmission system operates smoothly.

Eight escalators function stably, with 34 straight escalators accurately leveled.

The completion documentation is detailed and comprehensive, providing strong traceability.

2. Engineering Highlights Appreciation
Situated within the city’s green lung area, the hospital benefits from fresh air and a peaceful, scenic environment.

The architectural spaces are spacious and bright, featuring soft and warm decorative colors that create a comfortable atmosphere for patients during treatment and rehabilitation.

The comprehensive integration of BIM technology throughout the design, construction, and operation phases has delivered remarkable outcomes.

The curved glass curtain wall is installed with precision, achieving a flexible and smooth curved surface.

The roof features a reasonable slope, neatly laid decorative tiles, uniform and straight flashing curves, and orderly arranged equipment pipes, all reflecting exquisite structural details.

The integrated light strip ceilings include comprehensive lighting fixtures, sprinklers, smoke detectors, broadcasting systems, air vents, and other terminal devices, all arranged scientifically and reasonably.

The equipment rooms are designed with reasonable layouts, featuring neat and orderly pipelines, with finely finished construction and exquisite craftsmanship.

The project incorporates various energy-saving materials and equipment, including sunshade grilles, solar collectors, LOW-E insulated glass, and multi-split heat recovery fresh air fans.
