How to Accurately Calculate Room Volume in Revit
In practical engineering, calculating the volume of rooms is often necessary. So, how can you use Revit software to determine room volume? Let’s explain the process step by step.
1. Open Revit software and create any room model, as shown in the image.
2. Go to the Architecture tab, then click Room and Area. From the dropdown menu, select the Area and Volume Calculation command, as illustrated below.
3. When the Area and Volume Calculation dialog box appears, select the Area and Volume command and click Confirm, as shown in the screenshot.
4. Next, add a section and enter the section view. Ensure the room height offset is greater than the floor height, as demonstrated in the figure.
5. At this point, select the room (e.g., Room 1). The Properties panel will display the Volume, showing the accurate volume of the room, as presented in the image.
In summary, by following the steps above, you can learn how to use the Room command in Revit to calculate room volume precisely. Additionally, when combined with the detailed schedule command, it allows you to calculate and manage room volumes efficiently.
