How to Quickly Locate Elements in a Revit Plan View

BIM Software Quick Tip: How to Quickly Find Elements in Revit Plan Views

Click on the graphic elements in the plan view, and then use the ViewCube in the 3D view to easily locate the corresponding elements.

Wondering how to quickly use 3D views to find graphic elements on a plan view? Let me explain.

When you select a single graphic element in the plan view, some of its properties will be displayed.

However, if you select multiple elements, their properties will not be shown.

Here’s a useful trick: Select the graphic elements you want to locate in the 3D view. Then, in the floor plan, use the “Hide Other Elements” (HI) command to isolate those selected elements. This allows you to focus on the desired graphics and achieve the result you want.
